TYPES OF CONTAINERS AND THEIR DIMENSIONS

Containers for maritime (multimodal) transport are divided into:
- Dry containers (DC – Dry Container or DV – Dry Van)
- 20-foot containers for “dense” or heavy small-sized cargo
- 40-foot containers – standard or high cube (High Cube) for relatively light but bulky cargo
- 45-foot containers for the transportation of special equipment, construction machinery, and vehicles
- Refrigerated containers for maintaining specific temperature conditions
- Tank containers (Tank) for transporting liquids and gases
- Open Top containers with a soft tarpaulin instead of a rigid cover for oversized cargo or top-loading products
- Flat Rack containers with an open platform for transporting non-standard cargo (also used as an alternative to Open Top)
